A sombre reminder

This article on Sydneyanglican.net is a reminder of the hazards of doing short term mission work overseas.

Please join in prayer for the family and James’ home church, St Paul’s Wahroonga as they await news…

And of course, this should remind us to be much in prayer for Graham in Ghana, and Ian & Judy in Western Australia

Update: The ABC report this morning (Saturday, Aug 27) finding the body of James Coulter.

Comment

  1. Having read the articles, I don’t know if this tragedy was a result of the ‘hazards of short-term mission’...from both the Sydney Anglicans and the ABC reports, it sounded like James fell while taking a photo. It could have just as easily happened to a tourist.

Of course, this should not reduce the sadness of his death or our prayers for those of us involved in local and overseas mission.

  2. Agreed. I guess though, that he was unlikely to have been in Uganda if he hadn’t been on a mission trip.
