Godfinder Podcast
Two guys from Melbourne have started up an interesting variation on podcasting. They are producing a podcast that pulls together ‘the best’ of Christian podcasts on the web. They call it Godfinder
It’s a great idea – pulling samples from a variety of Christian podcasts from around the world and seeking to place them in a broader context.
Now, I was planning on doing a brief review of Godfinder – until I realised that they have actually featured a talk of mine in the Godfinder podcast 005! However, I will still make a few comments.
Firstly, I appreciate the honour of having our church featured in their podcast. And I think they did a pretty good job at placing it in context – especially given that their information came from our church web site and the podcast alone.
But I do have a couple of constructive suggestions for the guys.
- Tighten up the script. I know the value of doing that in a talk at church, and podcasting is no different. Out of a 30 minute podcast, there is probably only 15-20 minutes of what I would call actual content.
- Consider actually speaking with the people who’s podcasts you feature. I appreciated the email making contact with me, but I didn’t hear back when I replied.
- Play longer clips of the featured podcasts. You seem to spend far longer explaining what the speaker is talking about than what the speaker himself would take to say it!
But those are relatively small points, and the concept is excellent!, and Jeremy and Phil come over very well.
Keep up the good work guys – it’s a great resource!
