A Wedding Anniversary
Today is my 27th wedding anniversary.
I don’t often feel compelled to blog about personal events like this, but today, I do.
It’s a public opportunity to give credit where credit it due: first to God, who we have sought to have at the centre of our relationship since day one. We haven’t always succeeded, but have worked hard at it, and God has certainly kept His part of the deal!
Secondly Robyn, my wife, who despite huge struggles with chronic health problems, has always sought to serve her family tirelessly and selflessly. I love her deeply, and for always.
It is actually a little scary to realise that in about five years time, we will have equalled the time my in-laws were married for, before Robyn’s dad died in 1992.
Mind you, we have a way to go to beat my parents, who are racing (a relative term) towards their diamond (60th) anniversary in a few years.
God has been very good to us both in this 27 years. He has always looked after us in all our ventures – ministry and personal, and has blessed us with four great guys: Simon, Ben, Joel and Sam (and one fantastic daughter-in-law, Lorien!) whom we delight in.
Thank you.

Why thank you… ;-)
It always feels a little strange when people offer ‘congratulations’ on something like an anniversary… I don’t really feel like I’ve done anything special…

But we should congratulate you both!
27 on the 27th.
Hm. Is deeply meaningful?
