Elegant web design

I am unashamedly a web design neophite.
I love the whole idea of the current focus in web design – the separation of style from content, and the increasingly powerful tools to help create web sites that are accessible and work well on a wide range of equipment.
It’s very satisfying from an athestic and geeky-coding point of view!
But I am a rank beginner at things like CSS.

The site A List Apart is widely regarded as a paragon of fine web design, and for the promotion of web standards.

As I’m in the process of learning a lot about CSS (the code that styles web sites) while I re-design this site, I was most interested in this article on A List Apart that describes and demonstrates the very design that I’m using on the new version of Westserve.
