  1. Not small enough to be really portable, and not big enough to be particularly functional (although the touch screen does look somewhat promising)... I don’t get it. No built-in mobile data connectivity, only Wi-Fi (location/availability dependant) and Bluetooth (so you still need your mobile with you).

  2. It does seem a strange mix of ideas. I guess it will rise or fall on applications. There’s already a UMPC Display Emulator for all those budding software authors out there!

  3. It looks like a PSP!

Not something I’d find particularly useful, but I suppose it has merit for the businessfolk of the Western world, assuming it has a battery life longer than one-half of ten minutes.

  4. Neil, how does Vista fit in with this? Will these machines run Vista?

  5. There’s rumours of a ‘mobile’ Vista that are yet to be confirmed. The goss is that ‘mobile Vista’ would replace XP Tablet. But for the meantime, XP Tablet it is.
Not to be sneezed at though. XP-T is a natty o/s. BIG downside for the Origami is that is not ‘instant on’. It has to ‘boot’ (although not in the traditional sense of the word). Daft.
