A step into the darkness

Well, I’ve purchased my very first Apple product . I’m not sure if that’s a reason to rejoice or be sad… I’ll tell you in a few days, I guess.
Oh, I know some of you Apple evangelists out there will be praising the god of all things I.T., and I’m happy to admit that I went for an iPod because it seems to be the best device in it’s class. I did a lot of research, and the best device in the non-iPod group was probably the Creative Zen, but it had a few serious shortcomings for my usage (like needing to install a device driver to access the hard drive in the thing).
And while the iPod is far from perfect, it does have a nice interface, and so long as I don’t let iTunes handle the syncing, I should be able to set the thing up to suit my not-quite-standard way of using it.
Anyhow, it should be here in a couple of days, and I’ll post my experiences… ;-)
