Move Day

As Joel has written “The Cardboard Kingdom has been vanquished from the realm of Toongabbie”. Move Day has come and, well not quite gone.

Yesterday was the big day, and while for Joel squatting back at Toongabbie, the box canyons disappeared, they have simply been transferred 50kms west to Springwood. As moves go, it was pretty good – certainly much easier than doing it with a bunch of little kids, but still daunting. Looking around, it’s something of a case of ‘where do I start?’ A confusion aided by the removalists’ propensity to put boxes in rooms totally unrelated to the labels on those boxes.
But, with Joel moving to West Ryde, and Simon to Oakhurst, we actually have 1.5 spare rooms! An extraordinary situation for us! (It’s only 1.5 spare rooms, as Joel has claimed space in one bedroom for weekend visits…

We got through all of the ‘change utilities’ issues pretty smoothly, but we are stuck on dial-up internet for a few days until someone decides they can throw a switch in the local exchange.

Next week brings a mad time of ordination preparation and my initiation into the staff team of SWAC. Lots to add after that, I’m sure…
