South Africa Bound

A mere six weeks or so into my time at Springwood Anglican, and I’m leaving!
But only for 20 days or so, on a short term mission trip to South Africa.

SWAC has a substantial connection with Melville Union Baptist Church in Johannesburg, South Africa. They have done one misison trip to Jo’burg and a member of one of my congregations – Andrew Robinson from Church @ 5 – is spending this year there doing a sort of international MTS year of training.

A second mission trip has been planned for a while and I was delighted when Vicki asked me to co-lead the trip with her.
We’re still negotiating the dates, but either July or September will be the most likely time – it needs to work in with the SA uni timetables, as a major part of our work there will be with Uni students.

We plan on taking a group of 8-9 people.
I will have to turn my mind to doing some fund raising, as this is not a cheap mission trip – around $4000 all up.

I would value you prayers, good reader, as time will be short to do all the preparation if the July dates are the favoured time.
