iPod - first reactions

Ok, my very first Apple product has arrived, and is now sitting – perhaps a tad uncomfortably – next to my newly resurrected desktop XP machine.

• First reactions?
• Nice design.
• Very nice user interface (this is the colour screen, photo model).
• Stupid ear buds (but I think all ear buds are stupid!).
• Dumb decision not to include a Firewire cable.
• Impressive sound quality.

I already have a love/hate relationship with iTunes. The concept is great, but it really surprised me that I had to delve into the manual to work out how to transfer music files to the Pod!
I’m not stupid when it comes to things technical, but I wanted the iPod set up not to sync automatically, and it was not very intuative at all.

But, I’m getting the hang of it, and working out more and more ways that I will make use of it…

The next step is an FM transmitter so I can use it in the car.
