Mission? To Vanuatu? I wish!

Vanuatu

In just over a month, our son Joel will head off to Vanuatu for a year of mission work with AFES. This is very much a new position and role for AFES to support, so he doesn’t know a great deal about what the work will involve.
He will start by working with students at the Uni in Port Vila for a few months. After that, he hopes to go to one of the more remote island communities and get involved in teaching English to people there.
Joel has started a special blog to keep people up to date.

We’re pretty excited for him, and a little anxious that so little is unknown about the year’s program, but we are also confident that God is sovereign and will care for him for the duration.

If you happen to know Joel and would like to support him in a physical sense (prayer support is always welcome, of course!), then you can donate to his fund at AFES and/or if you enjoy fine coffee, support Joel and your habit thus:
As my coffee blog describes, I’ve put together a special blend called ‘Vanuatu Sunset’ that will support Joel financially. You can buy it roasted here and as a green blend (for home roasters) here.

Some people might think Vanuatu is a funny choice for Christian mission, but people in every nation need to hear the Good News of Jesus and His love for them. We’re just delighted that Joel is responding to what God has clearly put in his mind…
