Westserve has a new home

VPS

The new VPS is up and running nicely.
There was a bit of a learning curve, but Westserve was the first active domain to be cut across today. Some parts of the world will take another day or so to catch up with the change in DNS, but most of you will be reading this served up by the server known as Blue Mountains Hosting.

It’s been a good experience overall. The managed VPS I’m using is a nice balance between the flexibility of having your own server and not having to worry about essential security update for the O/S and the like.

I’ve been very impressed with the support at Liquid Web who have even phoned a response through from the U.S. when my email was down (at my shared host). Their responses to support tickets (mainly newbie questions) has always been within two hours and the staff have been polite and patient.

So, now to begin moving other, more demanding domains over one by one…
