FireFox 1.1 scrapped

Most human visitors to Westserve are using some flavour of Firefox – the open source web browser that is slowly stealing market share from IE.
FireFox has a number of advantages over IE (and some disadvantages), and I certainly enjoy it’s flexibility and easy expansion through add-ins and extensions.

Currently at release 1.0.6, it’s interesting to read that version 1.1 has been scrapped (see the full story here ) in favour of pushing on to 1.5 and 1.5.
The main reason put forward is the pace of bug fixing that has been happening and continues to happen.
I think this is fundamentaly good news, as it points to the responsiveness of the Mozilla dev team to the issues that arise as FireFox grows in it’s market share, and therefore becomes a bigger target for hackers and other lowlife.
