Spooks - minus Tom

Well, after all the hoo-haa about Tom coming back from the ‘dead’, they’ve gone and booted him out of the service only one episode later!
Would have been a better approach to allow his disquiet with the ethics of the service to develop over a longer period and build some tension with it.
But, he’s gone…

However, I think we will survive Tom’s departure. The new guy, Adam, is not unlike Tom in some ways, and the script always gave good coverage to the other cast members.

Anyone seen the Spooks DVD’s for sale in Oz? They were a while back, but haven’t seen them around lately.

  2. Aarrgh! I hate it when Americans try to do English costume dramas!
    Don’t they know how gross the accents sound?
    Still Tom is pretty good casting as D’arcy. (we had to sit through P&P endlessly when our eldest son did it for the HSC)
    On a related note, I found that Spooks DVD's are back and available around the place. Series 2 Collectors Edition and Series 3 on order (thanks to a Blockbuster gift certificate that had been laying around since Christmas!)

  6. So Kiera Knightley is really getting into the feisty female roles: Bend it like Beckham, King Arthur and now Pride and Predjudice

    I agree with the "comments":http://peter.neal.id.au/blog/20/people-leave-people-join#c000028 that spooks should survive Tom leaving because the other characters are strong. However for me Zoe+Danny are one character – though this may change with Zoe’s romance – and Harry seems to be a bit nastier this season – or is that what being shot does to you?
