Your know you're home when...
You know the feeling: You’ve been away on holiday or a another trip, you head home, the car (or for us, car and trailer) is loaded up, you reach your driveway, pull in, open up the house and start unloading.
But you know you’re really home when … what is it for you?
For me it’s when the espresso machine (all 35Kg of it) is back in place in the kitchen, the water supply hooked up, the Mazzer grinder is in place, and the whole kit is warming up, ready for the first ‘spresso back home.
That was today for me. Returning ‘home’ after eight weeks leave…

It is finished
It was good to sit back this afternoon and know a big job was done, and done well – if I do say so myself.
Painting a house (non-brick) is not an insignificant job, and one that requires more time than the usual two weeks holiday. So I’m very glad it is done…

Taking my leave...
No, don’t worry, I’m not departing in the normal sense of the word.
But I am taking some long service leave – eight love-er-ly weeks of it!

Another bite...
Well, after months of procrastination, this is the renewed look of Westserve. It’s lean and mean, which probably reflects something of where I’m at right now.
A bit of a catch up:
Our first year at Springwood is drawing to a close, and it’s been a mixed time. We love living here – who could not enjoy the Blue Mountains? I love the people at Factory Night Church – the congregation I pastor. The Sunday night meetings have a great vibe to them, and it’s been good to see positive changes in people and the group over this year.
But… I’m exhausted. I mean, I am really drained. Two or three of the main reasons:

The first three weeks
It’s hard to believe that the first three weeks of work at Springwood Anglican has just about passed.
Here’s some fairly random reflections on that period (for SWAC people reading this – you may want to find something more interesting to browse!).

I'm Ba-a-ack
Well, I’ve surfaced at long last.
It feels like it’s been forever since I was in the routine of ministry at Toongabbie, and I guess it has been 3 months…

Move Day
As Joel has written “The Cardboard Kingdom has been vanquished from the realm of Toongabbie”. Move Day has come and, well not quite gone…

M-Day approaches
Moving house is supposed to be in the top ten of most stressful events in our lives. But people in ministry do it more often than most. It’s our turn next week…
