Of web sites and servers
Apologies in advance for the geeky topic…
For nearly four years I’ve had a web hosting account with a very large hosting company in America.
But, for a range of reason, I’ve started the process of moving my most important sites to different facilities. This is a complex and involved task that needs a lot of planning…

Firefox Tips
The more I use Firefox as my web browser, the more I appreciate the thought and effort put into it.
On the rare occasion I have to use IE (6 or 7), I feel like I’m going back into the stone age of web browsing.
But… one of the minor frustrations with FF is how so many cool features are not really well documented. Which is why I’m always on the lookout for article like this one…

Google Aquires Feedburner
Hmmm. Not sure what this means for us Feedburner users… apart from the fact that Google has yet another way into our lives…

Site redesign 3
I’m admitting defeat.
Having been working on and off on the new design and restructure of this blog for nearly 3 months, I’m taking a shortcut.

Elegant web design
I am unashamedly a web design neophite.
I love the whole idea of the current focus in web design – the separation of style from content, and the increasingly powerful tools to help create web sites that are accessible and work well on a wide range of equipment.
It’s very satisfying from an athestic and geeky-coding point of view!
The site A List Apart is widely regarded as a paragon of fine web design, and for the promotion of web standards.

Site resdesign 2
I while back I wrote that I was planning a major redesign of Westserve over the holiday period.
While to you, humble visitor, it looks like nothing has changed, things have been happening behind the scenes – albeit slower than I would have liked.
Read on for more ramblings and thoughts on the current re-make …
